Best enjoyed sat on a rock.
We like sitting on rocks. Particularly if there’s a good view too. They also make a great spot to stop and make a cup of coffee.
Fortunately, nothing about this coffee is rocky.
It tastes a bit like caramelised peach, pear, strawberry and toffee.
So almost the exact opposite of how we imagine a rock would taste.

Some coffees are about tradition. Some are about resilience. This one is about both.
Grown at 1,380–1,500m in the Matagalpa region of Nicaragua, Santa Maria is a farm with a story. It has been in the hands of Victor Robelo and his family since 2011, but their connection to coffee goes back much further. Victor’s family has been farming coffee since 1937, and despite hardships—losing their land during conflict and fighting to regain it—his dedication never wavered.
Now part of Grupo Las Nubes, Santa Maria is one of seven farms that grow coffee under the shade of La Reserva El Arenal, a protected forest. The combination of high-altitude, diverse microclimates and Victor’s relentless pursuit of quality has led to international recognition, including a Cup of Excellence win in 2017.
But according to Victor, there’s no magic secret. It’s all about the team. Every step—from planting to harvesting to washing and drying—is carefully executed by a group of people who love what they do. That passion is what makes Santa Maria special.
